Melanie Still Alexander, 68, passed away Tuesday, May 7,2024 after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Blakely and Early County. Melanie was born in Blakely on September 6, 1955 to the late John Millard and Janis Barrentine Still. She attended Early County Schools and retired from the United States Postal Service. She was a member of Zion Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Mickey Wayne Alexander; four children, Michael Edward Conner, Kendall Alexander Alderman (Brent), John Carl Alexander, and Angel Alexander Easom (Jeff), nine grandchildren, Lanie Joy Conner, Michael Reid Conner, Zachary Alexander Alderman, James Cade Alderman, Landon Easom (Sidney), Megan Easom, Lindsey Easom, Mason Easom, Michael Easom; two sisters, Stephanie Whitehead (Jim) and Teresa Hattaway (Jim), and several nieces, a nephew, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Macy Easom. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May, 9 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. William Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Pallbearers being asked to serve are Mac Cox, Mac J. Cox, Wes Fincher, Judson Herrington, Wyc Herrington, Cannon Moseley, Gatlin Moseley, Fletcher Thompson, James Thompson, and Olin Thompson. Interment will follow at Sowhatchee Cemetery with Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
