Gwen Howell Hayes

Gwen Howell Hayes, 65, of Blakely passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023 in Southeast Health Dothan, Alabama. Gwen was born on June 16, 1958 in Blakely, Georgia to the late Lester Marvin Earnest, Sr and Frances Louise Bowman Earnest. She worked for many years as an insurance adjuster. She was a beloved member of Westview Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Bob Howell and brother John Earnest. She is survived by her husband William “Will” Hayes of Blakely, step-son Sean Howell of Dothan, AL, step-daughter Kecia Wilson of Pembroke, KY, brother Marvin Earnest and wife Birdie of Auburn, Ga, niece April Earnest Sandifer and husband Phillip of Cartersville, GA, nephew Matthew Todd Earnest and wife Jennifer of Lawrenceville, GA, step-grandchildren Summer Gilley, Jordan Gilley and Hadden Gilley, step-great grandchildren Josiah and Jakob. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Blakely Cemetery with her brother Marvin Earnest officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday November 19, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Manry-Jordan Hodges Funeral Home.
