Wyatt Hoyt Swords, 79,of 134 Pepper St., Arlington, GA, passed away on,Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017. He was born September 23, 1937 in Arlington, Ga to the late Wyatt Haniel Swords and Eula Tindol Swords. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Manry -Jordan- Hodges Funeral Home.His funeral will be on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Arlington Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Mason and Dr. Gary Hadden officiating.Burial will follow in theOak Grove Cemetery in Arlington with Joshua Hyde, Jonathan Hyde, Stephen Wilson, Alex Wilson McKay Swords and Jordan Trawick serving as pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers will be the Ike Newberry Sunday School Class.
Mr. Swords was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Chevron Oil.Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Miller Swords and a brother-in-law, Johnny Giles.
He is survived by a daughter, DeWana Lowe and Neil of Edison, GAa son, Gary Swords and Pam of Arlington, GA, a sister, Joan Giles of Lumpkin, GA and 5 grandchildren; Joshua Hyde, Jonathan Hyde, Stephen Wilson, Alex Wilson and McKay Swords; 2 great-grandchildren; Grayson Wilson and Morgan Lovell,his caregivers; Henry Humphries and Curtis Sims.
