Walter Eugene Mcgovern

July 9, 1947 — October 18, 2018

Walter Eugene McGovern, 71, passed away on September 4, 2018, following an extended illness.A Celebration of Life will be held at the graveside on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Enterprise Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Crowdis officiating.The US Navy will honor Gene's family with Military Rites.

He would love to be remembered as a history buff and big time jokester.He was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty McGovern, his father, Walt Mcgovern and his mother, Annie B. Kent.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Briggs of Albany, Ga; a Granddaughter, Shaye Creamer and a great-granddaughter, Layla. He is also survived bya loving caregiver and soul mate, Jean Ricketson of Nicholls, GA; a brother, Don Day of Louisiana, two sisters; Jackie Roberts and husband Gene of Donalsonville, GA, Jerri Reynolds and husbandGene of Albany, GA and many nieces and nephews.
