Vivian Brownlee Bridges

Mrs. Bridges was born in Blakely, GA on March 21, 1935, to the late Idus Brady Brownlee and Ellie Merle Williams Brownlee.She was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church where she was Sunday School Director for many years.She received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia.She was a retired High School English Teacher and a beloved substitute teacher at SGA.Vivian and her husband Charles were co-founding members of Southwest Georgia Academy and she was a charter member of the SGA grandparents club.
Her survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles Washington Bridges, III; two daughters, Cindy B. Brown of Damascus, GA and Suzanne B. Dowdy and her husband Miller of Brandon, FL, a son, Charles W. (Chas) Bridges, IV and his wife Tonja of Damascus, GA; two sister, Ellen Glass and Sonya Brown (Alvin) all of Blakely, GA, and two brothers; Robert Brownlee of Blakely, GA and Emory Brownlee and his wife Bonnie Sue of Cumming, GA.She has six grandchildren; Megan Dowdy of Orlando, FL, Quinn Dowdy of Tallahassee, FL, Trey Davis and his wife Paige of Arlington, GA, Madison B. Warren (Josh) of Statesboro, GA and Logan Bridges and Sutton Bridges both of Damascus, GA.There are three great grandchildren, Tom, Cason and Addison, and a great granddaughter, Vivian Grace Warren, to be born in December of 2019.
