Verna Thomas White

Verna Thomas White, of Blakely, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on October 6, 1930, in Blakely, Verna lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community. Verna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving children: Linda White Hamilton, Randy White (Lisa), Lane White, and Rex White, all of Blakely, GA. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Wendy Tello-Perez, Kristal Houston (Kevin), Tim Hamilton, Danielle Hamilton, Kandi English (Randall), Michelle Goree (John), Kristi Davis (Rollins), Kasey White (Alexis), Amber Mulligan (Matthew), Alexis White (Cory Altman), Alanna White (Fulton), JW White, Steve White, and Brandon White. Verna was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Julia, Christian, Nicholas, Delayla, Braden, Karson, Destiny, Bralynn, Leland, Cooper, Addison, KJ, Maddie, and Caleb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Henry Thomas and Martha Ann Thomas, her beloved husband, Hosie White, her sons Wayne White and Steve White, her grandson Josh Hamilton, her brothers Robert, Willie, James, Eldridge, Marcus, and Leonard Thomas, and her sister Mary Frances Thomas. Verna dedicated many years of her life working as a supervisor at Brew Apparel, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues for her hard work and leadership. A graveside service to honor Verna's life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Blakely Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Randall English, Rollins Davis, John Goree, Justin Lott, Justin Williams, and Cory Altman. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital. Verna Thomas White will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
