Tommy Dale Mock, 70, of Blakely, GA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 4, 2020, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020, at Zion Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Alex Howell officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service.Tommy's close friends, Phillip Belisle, Billy Cannon, Phil Clinkscales, Sam Clinkscales, Charles Hobbs, Max Jr., Phillip & Talley Holman, Justin Hunt, Gerald, Kirk, Allen, Cooper & Seth Jenkins, Tim Moore, Jason & Jessie Williams, Bryan, Jake, Davis, Marsh & Shep Willis along with his hunting buddies, past team members, coaches & students, dog training comrades, field trial friends, Christian fellowships, South Dakota & Nebraska friends, as well as horse & silversmith friends are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
Tommy was born on September 10, 1950 in Colquitt, GA to the late Fred Mock and Cappie Warren Mock.Tommy completed his education at Troy University where he earned his Master of Arts - Administrative Leadership degree.He taught and coached football for numerous years at Southwest Georgia Academy and briefly at Early County High School.A true outdoorsman and sportsman, Tommy was very active in birddog training along with hunting horses.He also enjoyed the art of blacksmithing and silversmithing.
Tommy is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Nancy Holman Mock; his daughter, Dr. Virginia Jane Mock of Austin, TX; a sister, Gloria Jenkins and her husband Gerald of Colquitt: two nephews, Kirk Jenkins (Joanna) and Allen Jenkins (Kristi) of Colquitt; and numerous friends & extended family members.
