Thomas Edward "Tommy" Peters, 81, passed away at the Early Memorial Nursing Home, Blakely, GA, on January 3, 2020.Due to the weather forecast for Saturday, January 11, 2020, Tommy's funeral has been changed from a Graveside Service to a Chapel Service at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home at 3 PM with Rev. Tucker Lewis officiating.Burial will be at the Blakely Cemetery when weather permits.

Tommy was born on January 17, 1938, in Blakely, GA, to the late Joseph Edward "Jack" Peters and Harriett Melissa Fletcher Peters. He served in the US Army Reserve. He retired from Spooner Feed and Seed in Donalsonville, GA and enjoyed researching genealogy and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a former City Councilman for the city of Jakin, GA and was a contributor to the Early County Historical Society Collections of Books. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Peters.

His survivors include two sisters; Geraldine and George Wilson of Grafton, IL, Debra and Danny Hodges of Colorado Springs, CO, one brother; Jimmy Peters of Tampa, FL.He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
