Thomas Alvin Jackson, 72, of Edison died Friday, October 28, 2022 at his home. His family will receive friends from 4-6 PM, Sunday, October 30 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely. His funeral service will be Monday, October 31 at 11:00 AM at Morgan Baptist Church in Morgan, Georgia with Brother Chris Holdorf officiating. Interment to follow at Salem Cemetery in Edison with Al Sudderth, Jimmy Crouch, Spence Jackson, David McLendon, Daniel Guill, Kyle Brooks serving as pallbearers. A native of Edison, Thomas “Tom” Jackson was a friend to many. He was a humble, hardworking man who spent his life working the land as a farmer. He loved the Lord and was an active member of Morgan Baptist Church. His work on the Building & Grounds Committee at church was always completed behind the scenes. He saw a need, and he met it. His dry whit brought a smile to everyone’s face and made everyone love him. Tom leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, two beautiful daughters and their husbands, and three grandchildren to continue his legacy. Survivors include his wife Cecelia Jackson; daughters Jenny (Ryan) Sheffield and Julie (Graham) Ginn; grandchildren Jackson Ginn, Bodi Sheffield, and Anna Grace Ginn; brother Joe (Sylvia) Jackson, Jr; sisters Marilyn (Mike) McLendon and Grace (Danny) Guill.
