Shirley Lindsey Whitaker, 81, of 225 Westminister Village Blvd., Sharpsburg, GA, passed away on April 10, 2017 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.Her graveside service will be Thursday, April 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the George Cemetery, Blakely, GA with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. Visitation will be at the New Hope Baptist Church social hall Thursday, April 13, from 1 -1:50 p.m.

Shirley was born June 13, 1935 in Colquitt, GA to the late George Wyatt Lindsey and Sallie Lee Sheffield Lindsey.She was employed for many years as secretary to Early County Assistant District Attorney, David Mosely.She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frazier Lindsey and a sister, Vivian Faulk.

Her survivors are one daughter; Jennifer W. Stanley and Mike of Sharpsburg, GA , a son, Scott Whitaker and Lane of Enigma, GA and 4 grandchildren; Connor and Kasey Stanley, Sharpsburg, GA, Jessica Whitaker Haman, Adel, GA and Lance Greene, New York.She also has 5 great grandchildren; Carson, Daniel, Case, Ella and June.
