Sherman Brantley Nichols

Sherman Brantley "Nick" Nichols, 80, of 1356 Damascus Street, Blakely, GA 39823, passed away Friday morning October 26, 2018 at Early Memorial Nursing Home.The funeral will be held Monday, October 29, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev.Yancey Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1 p.m. at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery with Stanley Houston, Perry Jarrett, Fred Forsee, William Davis, Lamar Willis and Earl Jones serving as active pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Masonic Lodge # 86.

Nick was born in Cuthbert, GA on November 18, 1937, to the late Coy Nichols and Louise Maude Reynolds Nichols Turner. He was a charter member Southside Baptist Church and he taught Sunday School for many years. He was member of theMasonic Lodge # 86.He also served in the U. S. Navy during peacetime. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Cox Nichols and a son Stacey Nichols.Nick was retired from Birdsong Peanut Company as a scale operator.

His survivors include a daughter, Tonya Nichols of Blakely, GA, two grandsons; Neal Roberts and Deborah of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Coy Roberts and Erin of Dallas, GA.
