Sherman Hester

Thomas Sherman Hester, 97, passed away, August 7, 2017, in Douglasville, GA while visiting relatives.His funeral will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.Burial will follow in the Bush Cemetery with Haden Hester, Fulton Hester, Nakea Hester, Jamie Creel, Andrew Chadwick and Hunter Chadwick serving as pallbearers.
He was born in Blakely to the late James Marion Hester and Mary Zemma Anderson Hester Powell. Sherman was a self-employed cabinet maker, member of Cuba Presbyterian Church and a WW II veteran having served in the US Army Air Force.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Hester Creel.
He is survived by one son, Tommy Hester and Michelle of Colquitt, GA; two sisters, Janie Hilton of Tampa, FL, and Jimmie Nasworthy, Rex,GA; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
