Shelby Jean Hughes 83 of Blakely passed away at Early Memorial Nursing Home on December 9, 2021. Graveside service will be held Monday December 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Blakely Cemetery withRev. James Walden officiating.Active pallbearers will be Greg Floyd, Kyle Harper, Dustin Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Chris Knight and Cameron Jackson.

She was born to the late Willie Bell Grier on September 9,1938 in Early County. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband James Marvin Hughes, a brother Willie Jim Jackson and a son Grady Holman (Bud) Harper II.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jean Taylor, Gloria Ann Harper and Robert Kyle Harper. A daughter-in-law Dale Harper. Two step children, James Franklin(PeeWee) Hughes (Sherry) and Marvin Eugene(Gene) Hughes(Brenda). She is also survived by 9 grandkids, 11 great grand kids and 1 great great grandchild.

She is a member of Unity Church of God in Iron City, Ga. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Unity Church of God.
