Sarah Gladys Parker Harrell, 100, of 270 Myzery Lane, Blakely, GA, passed away early this morning, September 5, 2017,at the Southeast Medical Center, Dothan, AL. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating, assisted by Dr. Shawn Williams. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Enterprise Freewill Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Peterson, Trey, Steven, Keith, Tim and Tommy Harrell.Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Strayer, Jimmy Weaver, Charles English, Ricky Taylor, Dennis Pantone, Raymond Gibson, Ernie Gibson, Raddie Miliner, Tony Johnson, Lynn Harrell, Shelton Smart, Scott Brownlee, Sean Strayer and Alex Harrell.The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday evening, Sept. 6, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Harrell was born on September 19, 1916 in Headland, AL to the late Eddie Parker and Bessie Whitaker Parker. She was a member of the now closed Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church but had been attending the First Freewill Baptist Church of Blakely and was a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Raymond Alston Harrell,a daughter, Gladys Elizabeth Harrell, a son, Robert Harrell and all of her siblings.
Her survivors include a daughter: Mary Lou Peterson and Bobby of Blakely, GA, and 2 sons: Henry Alston Harrell and Jimmie of Bluffton, Ga and Ray Harrell and Ann of Blakely, Ga. She has 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren.
