Sara Jean Thompson

Ms. Sara Dunn Thompson, 88, passed away at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC on September 30, 2021.The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges funeral home with Dr. Alex Howell officiating and interment will be in the Blakely Cemetery with Donald Thompson, David Hicks, Jason Millwood, Will Bryan, John Bryan and Drew Caudill serving as pallbearers.

Sara was born on January 13, 1933 to the late Ernest H. Dunn and Cyllene Hayes Dunn.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blakely and graduated from Blakely High School.Her work included Funeral Director at Bryan Funeral Home for years then Secretary for State of Georgia and worked at the Early Miller Training Center until she retired. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Drew B. Thompson, a son Mac and two brothers; Ernest Dunn (Shirley), David Dunn (Jimmie).

Her survivors include two sons; Edsel W. Bryan, Jr. (Polly Jo),Joseph W. Bryan, a stepson, Donald Thompson (Sally), five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
