Samuel Larry Coleman, 78, of 53 Willow Glen Drive, Blakely, GA 39823, passed away Thursday evening, June 21, 2018, at the Miller County Hospital, Colquitt, GA. His funeral will be held Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, Blakely, GA, with Rev. Jackie Williams officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, Blakely, GA. Burial will be Sunday, June 24, 2018, after the funeral, in the Blakely Cemetery with military rites.Active pallbearers will be Cliff Starr, Johnny Scarborough, George Hartley, Ernie Ford, Earl Jones, Phillip Moore, Mike Boyd, Greg McFay, Glenn McLendon and Harry Wayne Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted McLendon, Bobby Brooks, Jack Brooks, Frank Miller, Gerald Isler, Gene Mobley, Verna Sammons, Nick Nichols, Perry Jarrett, Lamar Willis, Edd Easom, David Jones, George Jones and David Bass.

Larry was born on August 7, 1939 in Edison, GA to the late John Samuel Coleman, Jr. and Beryl Fellows Coleman.He worked for 18 1/2 years for Duke Farm Equipment Company and 18 1/2 years at the H T McLendon Company both in Edison, GA.He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam era.He was a member, deacon and trustee of Southside Baptist Church, Blakely, GA.

His survivors will be his wife, Frances Jones Coleman of Blakely, GA, two Godsons; Greg McFay and Leigh McFay of Colquitt, GA; two aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
