Roy Stuart, a beloved resident of Arlington, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on July 31st, 1934, in Blakely, Georgia, Roy lived a life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and community. Roy was a devoted husband to his late wife, Eunice Ileen Stuart, and a loving father to his children: Mark Stuart (AJ) of Summerville, GA, Mike Stuart (Nan) of Arlington, GA, Robin Stuart (Lindy) of Huntsville, AL, and Robert Stuart (Beth) of Statham, GA. He was a proud grandfather to Rachel Stuart, Anna Chandler (Andrew), Matt Stuart (Sealy), Sutton Stuart, Jarod Stuart (Anna), Jackson Stuart, Aaron Stuart (Rebecca), Courtney Stuart, Ben Stuart, and Owen Stuart, and a cherished great-grandfather to Margot Chandler and Mallory Stuart. Roy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Stuart and Leila Stuart, his wife Eunice Ileen Stuart, and his siblings Ruby Way, Irene Roberts, Ruth Milliner, Dora Patterson, Ralph Stuart, Morris “Shine” Stuart, and Bud Stuart, Roy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Roy dedicated 36 years of his life to education as a school administrator, having earned a Specialist Degree in School Administration. His commitment to nurturing young minds was paralleled by his service to his country in the Army. A lifelong member and deacon of Arlington Baptist Church, Roy's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was actively involved in the church community, where he found joy and purpose. Funeral services will be held at Arlington Baptist Church on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at 2:00 pm, officiated by Dr. Gary Hadden and Dr. Van Power. Visitation will take place at the church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the same day. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Matt Stuart, Ben Stuart, Owen Stuart, Jackson Stuart, Vic Stuart, and Aaron Stuart. Honorary pallbearers will be the John Davis’ Sunday School Class and the Deacons of Arlington Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arlington Baptist Church in Roy's memory. Roy Stuart will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to education, and his deep love for his family. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
