Roy Earl Lashley, 76, of 384 Meadowbrook Drive, Blakely, GA, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 15, 2019 at Early Memorial Nursing Home. His graveside service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. in the Blakely Cemetery with Sam Cook officiating. The family asks that flowers be omitted entirely and that contributions be made to either the Bainbridge Memorial Hospital, %of the New Vision Center, 1500 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819 or to the Early Memorial Nursing Home, Patient Care Fund, 11740 Columbia St., Blakely, GA 39823.
Mr. Lashley was born on August 10, 1943 in Cedar Springs, GA to the late Grady Lashley and Etta Corine Adams Lashley. He was a retired self-employed landscaper and a member of the Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Ga. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: J. B. Lashley, B. J. Lashley and Tom Lashley.
His survivors include his wife, Hilda Moore Lashley of Blakely, Ga.; his son: Roy Anthony (Tony) Lashley of North Pole, AK; his daughter, Angela (Angie) Lashley King and husband Danny of Blakely; a sister, Jewell Dean Lashley Love and husband Edward of Albany, GA. He has 5 grandchildren: Garrett Lane Lashley and his wife, Amelia Thomas Lashley of Gallup, NM, Corey Allen Lashley and his Fiance' Clover Knottnerus of North Pole, AK, Joshua Paul King and his wife Jeri Michelle Clark King of Madison, AL, Matthew Clark King and Rachel Elizabeth King, both of Blakely, GA. There also is a great granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth Lashley of Gallup, NM and a great Grandson, Ezra Lane Lashley, due to be born in November. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Mrs. Hilda Lashley at 384 Meadowbrook Drive, Blakley, GA.
