Roy Alton Ashley

Roy Alton Ashley, 85, of Edison, GA, passed away at Lifebrite hospital in Blakely, Tuesday morning, May, 17 2022. Graveside services will be held at Vincent United Methodist Church Cemetery in Edison on Thursday, May 19 at 2:00 PM. with Rev. Buddy Coss and Ronnie Ashley officiating. There will not be a formal visitation. Roy was born August 9, 1936 and spent his career working for the Army Corps of Engineers. Roy loved to spend time in his garden and raise livestock. In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty, and their 3 children; Brad, Donna and Jeff and a granddaughter, Jessica. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Becky Daniels, Bobby Mote, Jackie Hancock, and Teenie Goodman. Survivors include his children; Mike Ashley and Martha Widner, both of Edison, a brother, Ronnie (Charlene) Ashley. He also leaves behind the family that made him a Pop; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
