Ronny Lee Flood, 78, of Blakely, GA passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, November 28, 2020, at his residence.
A private family graveside with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in George Cemetery.
Ronny was born on July 21, 1942 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Carl E. and Helen Webb Flood.He grew up playing baseball and was given the opportunity to tryout for numerous professional teams.In lieu of baseball, Ronny joined the United States Air Force where he served our country for twenty-one years and retired at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.He completed his career at the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany where he worked as a Maintenance Depot Supervisor for twenty-one years.Fishing and watching sports were two of his favorite hobbies along with doing yard work where he enjoyed waving at the passing cars.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, India Harris Flood; two step-sons, Todd Foster (Stacey) of Morgan and Anthony Foster of Newton; a step-daughter, Stephanie Gerbert (Scott) of Albany; two grandchildren, Jacob Foster of Morgan and Hanna Foster of Perth, Australia; his sister, Sandra Attaway (Steve) of Lake Okeechobee, FL; and numerous extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ronny was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Hill.
