Robert Hixie Jones

Robert Hixie Jones, 79, of Georgetown, Ga. passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 at White Plains Free Will Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Dwight Dunn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in White Plains Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The church is located on HWY 39 South in Blakely, Ga. Pallbearers will be Larry Rigsby, Richard Pitts, Brian Sauls, Braden Sauls, Josh Wynn, and Christian Wise. Mr. Jones was born November 22, 1944 to the late Wyatt Wade Jones and Gladys King Jones. He served in the U.S. Army as a part of the 1st Calvary and was a lineman with Three Notch EMC. He attended Georgetown Methodist Church and was the welcoming committee at Whispering Pines. Mr. Jones was an avid coon hunter and one of the most honest men you would ever meet. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was predeceased by a sister, Bettie Jones Meinema, and a brother, Wesley Jones. He is survived by his wife, Joyce McCorkle Jones, son, Michael Jones (Suzanne), daughters, Pamela Jill Jones Maddox, and Stacy Scarborough Sauls (Brian), and a brother, Allen Jones (Laura). Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Christian Wise (Amber), Brittany Dickerson Shiver, Marlow Steed, Braden Sauls, Casen Jones, and a great-grandchild, Paisley Mei Wise. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
