ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert W. "Bob" Greer, 61, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at 2pm on Monday, June 26, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill with Rev. Jamie Burdette officiating.The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-1:45pm.Another Celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11am at Arlington Baptist Church in Arlington, GA with burial following at Christ Church Cemetery in Newton, GA.
Born on 2/24/1956 in Port Gibson, MS, Mr. Greer was a son of the late L.S. and Marguerite Greer.He was a 1978 graduate of Mississippi State University earning his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.He was also a member of the marching band.He worked for Procter & Gamble in Albany, GA for 31 years and then moved to Rock Hill and worked for the Duracell Plant in Lancaster, SC for 8 years.He was a member of First Baptist Church in Albany, GA where he taught Sunday school and was involved in the media ministry.More recently, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill and was involved in the media ministry.Bob was a committed provider for his family and was a loving husband and father.
Surviving are his wife of 37½ years, B.J. Greer, his daughters, Leigh Greer, Maria Goodwin (Doug) and Karen Hunter (Matt); and his brother, Chester L. Greer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Greer's name to First Baptist Church Rock Hill, Music or Media Ministry, 481 Hood Center Dr, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
