Ricky Lamar Howard

Ricky Lamar Howard, a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on Monday, January 14th, 1963, in Blakely, Georgia, Ricky spent his entire life in the community he cherished. Ricky was a proud veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Army. His dedication to service and his community was evident throughout his life, as he touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. Ricky is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Sara Edwards Howard, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Olivia Chapman (Michael) of Colquitt, GA, and Ricky Howard, Jr. (Lil) of LaGrange, GA. Ricky was a proud Papa to Selena Michelle Chapman, MicKenna Faith Chapman, and Nicholas Howard, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his loving sister, Teresa Cox (Robert) of Ft. Gaines, GA, as well as several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, William Lamar Howard and Vonnell Howard, and his siblings, Tracy Howard and Michael Howard. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life. Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation one hour prior to the service to share memories and offer their condolences. Pallbearers honoring Ricky's life and service will be KJ Bush, Michael Chapman, Caleb Howard, Jayce Howard, Jason Howard, and Jaxton Howard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
