Mrs. Regina Ruth White Garrett, 86, of Ft. Gaines, GA passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday morning, December 10, 2020, following an extended illness.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church of Blakely.Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6;00-8:00 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Kolomoki Church Camp, c/o First United Methodist Church of Blakely, 397 College St., Blakely, GA39823.
Mrs. Regina was born at home on November 4, 1934 in Early County to the late Johnnie Lee White and Corine Creel White.Shortly after graduating from high school in May of 1953, she married Charles Garrett on the 1st of November and they began their blissful sixty-seven year marriage.After Charles was discharged from the Army they lived in Blakely before settling at their current home in 1973.
Mrs. Regina worked as a bookkeeper for numerous years at Woodrow Houston's accounting firm.She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Blakely and will be dearly missed by her beloved family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband Charles, survivors include her two daughters, Gina Roland and husband Gray and Jennifer Brown and husband Harriss, all of Blakely; seven grandchildren, Michael Plowden (Monica), Natalie Plowden, Billy Gray and Garrett Roland, and Caleb, Collin, and Addison Brown; one great-grandchild, Gabriel Plowden; her son-in-law, Rob Plowden, and numerous extended family members and friends.
Other than her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Jane Plowden, and a sister, Barbara Waller Edmonds.
