Mr. Ralph Darden Moody passed away at his residence, Saturday evening, December 16, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with the family receiving friends for a visitation starting at 10 AM. Rev. Dwight Bishop will be officiating the Memorial Service. The U. S. Air Force funeral detail will play taps and present the flag after the service in the Chapel.
Mr. Moody was born on May 29, 1938 in Blakely, GA to the late Vernon Ralph Moody and Flora Thrash Moody Dupree. Mr. Moody was a retired Master Sergeant of the U. S. Air Force, serving our country for 22 years with part of that time being served during the Vietnam War. After his military career he worked as a Safety Inspector for OSHA and then was a Safety Supervisor during the first 20 miles of construction of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit System. Upon his return to retirement living in Blakely, he and his wife became members of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely, GA.
His survivors include his wife, Barbara Anne Thomas Moody of Blakely, GA, a son, Thomas Darden Moody and April of Bryan, Arkansas and 2 grandchildren: Angel Cheshire and Patrick of Bryan, Arkansas and Clay Moody of Little Rock, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests that contributions be made to either Kindred Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819 or to the First United Methodist Church, 397 College St., Blakely, GA 39823.
