It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rafael Valles-Muñoz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this life on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, at the age of 84. Rafael was born on Wednesday, August 7th, 1940, in San Buena Ventura, Chihuahua, Mexico, and later made his home in Blakely, Georgia. Rafael was a dedicated diesel mechanic, proudly self-employed, and known for his exceptional skills and work ethic. Before moving to the United States in 1998, he owned a successful cattle farm in Mexico, where he cultivated a deep love for the land and animals. A devout member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Rafael's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a cherished member of the community, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support to those around him. Rafael is survived by his loving wife, Angela Ruiz-Valles, and his brother, Carlos Valles (Isabel Valles). He leaves behind a legacy through his children: Raul Valles-Ruiz, Palmira Valles (Ramiro Hernandez), Rafael Valles-Ruiz (Robinette T. Valles), Edgar Alonso Valles-Ruiz (Holga Landey), and Anna Marmolejo. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Jennifer Hernandez (Kevin Thomas), Anna Magaly Marmolejo (James Johnson), Karla B. Valles (Manuel Cabrera), Vivianna Hernandez (Leo Pacheco), Palmira Hernandez, Rafael Valles III, Camilo Hernandez, and Giselle A. Valles, as well as his great-grandchildren, Almira Y. Thomas and Lian Manuel Cabrera. Rafael was preceded in death by his parents, Raul Valles and Maria Luisa Muñoz, and his brothers, Tomas Valles, Ignacio Valles, and Socorro Valles. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, March 7th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Pallbearers honoring Rafael's life will be Raul Valles-Ruiz, Rafael Valles-Ruiz II, Edgar Alonzo Valles-Ruiz, Ramiro Hernandez, Rafael Valles-Ruiz III, and Camilo Hernandez. Rafael's family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
