Pamela Deese Mclendon

Pamela Deese McLendon, 65, of Edison, GA, passed away in Dothan, AL on April 9, 2023 following a lifelong battle with many health issues. Pam was born on January 21, 1958 to the late Boyd Deese and Patricia Deese Cantrell. Pam grew up in Albany, GA. Her life was centered on her family and her Christian faith. Pam was an active member at Sherwood Baptist Church. She met the love of her life and “knight in shining armor” Glenn McLendon through the church bowling team. Pam appreciated the fellowship of her Sunday School Class. With time and dedication, she generously supported Sherwood Christian Academy where her and Glenn’s children attended school. Her career was centered on family. She worked as a bookkeeper across from her sister Patti for her parents' business Deese Electric Motor Works. For many recent years she has been her husband’s business partner at H. T. McLendon Company. Customers were warmly welcomed by “Ms. Pam” who was as interested in them and their family as their business needs. She would love to tell those customers about her family too, especially her children and more recently her grandchildren. She spent a lot of time with her kids as they grew up, driving them to and from Albany everyday. She took them to church activities, soccer and taekwondo practice, and gave them anything they needed (or wanted). As “Mema” she loved on her three grandchildren and took many trips up to Grayson to spend as much time with them as she could. Pam was a dedicated friend. She would often send them encouraging words or Bible verses. She loved to write poems for her friends and family in moments of celebration and grief. She was generous and loving, often thinking of others before herself. She is survived by her husband Glenn and their children Michael McLendon (Micaela De Lauro) and Christa McLendon Bracey (Dylan Bracey); her grandchildren Tobias, Daxton, and Mattie Bracey; her siblings Patti, Penny, Peggy, and Tony. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, at Manry-Jordan-Hodge’s Funeral Home in Blakely. Visitation will be at 1pm, followed by the funeral at 2pm with Pastor John Spencer officiating; graveside service to follow at New Park Cemetery in Fort Gaines. Honorary pallbearers: Mike Harrison, Johnny Johnson, Jason Lawley, Jim McBride, Frank Miller.
