Owen Lawrence Fussell

His funeral service will be held at Southside Baptist Church on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Danny Brewer, Rev. Rick Smith and Rev. Yancey Hartman officiating.Burial will follow in the Blakely Cemetery with Stanley Houston, Thomas Hart, Tyner Kilgore, David Wilson, Preston Holt and Jack Tedder serving as active pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Carimachel and P. J. Patel.Visitation will be on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 5 -7 p.m. at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, Blakely, GA.
Mr. Fussell was born December 28, 1928 in Jacksonville, GA to the late Otis Lord Fussell and Flora Cook Fussell. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from Georgia Pacific as a Pulp Mill Supervisor.He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #86 in Blakely and served in the Navy Reserves. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ruth Sanders Fussell and a son Gene Fussell.
He is survived by a son, Larry and Lois Fussell of Monroe, GA; a sister Montine Spillers of Fayetteville, GA; 4 Grandchildren, Thomas and Traci Hart of Powder Springs, GA, Staci and Brad Franklin of Lawrenceville, GA, Lindsay Estep of Leesburg, Ga. and Blake Fussell of Longwood, FL and by 3 Great-Grandchildren; Sebastian, Cara and Emma-Kay Hart and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Southside Baptist Church, P. O. Box 664, 22240 Lucile Road, Blakely, GA 39823 or to the Blockhouse Baptist Church, P. O. Box 96, Jacksonville, GA. 31544
