Nita Norman Prescott

March 21, 1953 — December 21, 2023

Nita Norman Prescott, 70, of Donalsonville GA, entered into God’s kingdom on December 21st, 2023 at her home surrounded by family after a brief but brave battle with lung cancer. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Kimbrel Chapel in Colquitt, Ga. Brother Bobby Smith and Brother Ronald Rathel will officiate. Burial will follow in Notchaway Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born March 21st, 1953, to Leonard and Maurine Norman. Nita, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister is survived by daughters Debra Musgrove, Crystal (Matthew) Carroll and Ashley (Brandon) Brown; grandchildren, Jack (Vickie) McNease, Jacob Elmer, Jessica (Preston) Olle, Jerimane Benton JR, Autumn Benton, Bre Ware, Colby (Norma) Carroll, Bailey (Amanda) Carroll; Great Grandchildren, Blayklie Carroll, Luke Stewart and Nova Sanchez; Siblings, Josephine Kelley, Bill (Mildred) Norman, Edward Norman, Carole Sue (Ray) Frame, Judy (Rick) McMullen, Marlee (Sherry) Norman, Greg Norman and our very special sister Patsy McNease along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Nita was born in Colquitt, GA, and was one of 12 brothers and sisters. To know her was to love her. She adored her huge family. She retired from Miller County School District as Lunchroom manager. After retiring she spent much time fishing, loving and spending time with her husband, Richard, children and grandchildren. She loved a good jigsaw puzzle, Sudoku puzzles and was an avid reader. Nita was an enthusiastic gardener and had a wonderful green thumb. She loved working in her yard. She was an extraordinary cook and was much loved for her chicken and dumplings among many other dishes. She loved to fish and many of us remember her best with a fishing pole in her hand and a smile on her face. She was many things to all of us- Loving mother, devoted friend, adoring sister and there was this one time when she was even a swan-diver. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as husband, Richard Prescott; Daughter, Ginger Elmer; Brother Roger Norman and Sisters Willie Mae Norman, Iva Mae Bailey, Bessie Jewel, Esther Glass. Floral arrangements may be delivered to Manry Jordan Hodges for transport to the church. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
