Nettie Ruth Gowan

Nettie Ruth Gowan, 92, of Blakely passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 03, 2020, at Early Memorial Nursing Home.

Nettie was born January 17, 1928 to the late Martin and Gertrude McCorkle Harper.She was a graduate of Miller County High School and worked as a seamstress for many years at Brew Schneider Manufacturing along with the chores of a farmer's wife.Nettie loved her flowers and also enjoyed reading and sewing.She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Parker and husband Wayne, Diane Gowan, Ellen Everson-Taylor and husband Frank, Rhonda Paul of Nashville, TN, and Trudie Evans and husband Ed; a brother, Thomas Harper of Valdosta, GA; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Jethro Franklin "Frank" Gowan; two daughters, Myra and Doris Gowan; a granddaughter, Jennifer Craft; and a brother, William Lawrence Harper.

Due to current restrictions, the family will be having a private graveside service at Blakely Cemetery.
