Neal Taliaferro 77, of 4485 Nickelsville Rd. Arlington, Georgia 39813,passed away at his home Monday, November 21, 2016. His funeral will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1 PM in the Arlington Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak
Grove Cemetery in Arlington. The family will receive friends at their residence on Nicklesville Rd., Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Active Pallbearers will be: Judge Don Taliaferro, Robert and Chuck Taliaferro, Andy Brown, Sam Robinson and Chad Mathis. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ike Newberry Sunday School Class, Butch Kaminsky, Turner Bostwick, Chuck Cowart, Johnny McMurria, Dan Collins Sunday School Class, Bill White, Jerry Smith, Ronnie and Alan Lee and Jerry Harrell.
Neal was born on July 23, 1939 in Arlington, Ga. to the late Lester Harden Taliaferro, Sr. and Lola Lee Taliaferro. He was a retired farmer, member of the Arlington Baptist Church and was a member of Ike Newberry Sunday Class. Other than his parents, Neal was preceded in death byhis brothers: Coy, Ray, Charley, Bobby and Hugh Taliaferro.
His survivors include his wife: Joyce Murkerson Taliaferro of Arlington,Ga., 3 daughters: Jerri Lee Taliaferro of Arlington, Cloie T. Logan and Doug of Ft. Gaines, Ga. and Julie T. Middleton and Rob of The Woodlands, Tx. He has 2 grandsons: Kyle Odom and Kathleen and Cole Odom. There are 3 step-granddaughters: Leslie L. Bryant and Matt, Ashley L. Sharp and Brad and Sarah M. Simmons and Josh. He also has 3 brothers: Lester Taliaferro, Jr. and Patricia of Arlington, Ferrell Taliaferro of Franklin, NC and Jack Taliaferro of Tallahassee, Fl. There are also 2 sisters-in-law: Bobbie Brown White and Franklin of Shellman, Ga. and Carol T. Chambliss of Dawson, Ga. and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
