Monroe Taylor,73, passed away, June 26, 2018, at his residence, 6985 US Highway 27 S., Blakely, GA.His funeral will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home Blakely, GAwith Rev. Richard Hawks and Rev. Jackie Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Bush Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David "Skinchy" Chambliss, Shane Taylor, Scott Taylor, Steve Taylor, Charles Lovering and Terry Johnson.Honorary pallbearers will be David "Badeye" Chambliss, Greg Grimes, Toby Warr, Woody Warr, Kenneth Tiner, Ray Jordan, Randy Peterson, Sterling Jones and Ronnie Williams.Visitation will be on Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m. on June 28, 2018, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor was born in Shellman, GA on October 5, 1944, to the late X-M Taylor Sr. and Nancy Shattles Taylor.Other than his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters; Marie Taylor,Alice Chambliss and Hattie Taylor, three brothers; Rufus Taylor, Jack Taylor and Sammy Shattles. He was a member of the Cuba Presbyterian Church and he was retired from Southeast Forestry as a foreman.

His survivors include his wife, Annette Peterson Taylor, one daughter, Tina Nicole and Jeremy Vickers; two sons, Jimmy Ray and Debbie Taylor and James Monroe (Jamie) and Shelby Taylor all of Blakely, GA.; six brothers, Fred Taylor, X-M (Bea) Taylor, Jr., Frank and Ellen Taylor, all of Blakely; David Taylor of Bainbridge, GA and Dave Bruner of Edison, GA, Chad Haley of Dothan, AL and two sisters; Theresa Hester and Denise Hancock of Milledgeville, GA. There are eight grandchildren; Seth, Blayne Taylor and Brooke, and Brantly Taylor, Logan Stanley, Cealy Santos and Tucker Vickers, Jesse Cleveland and Ansley Vickers, one great grandchild, Caseton Liles.
