Mr. Willie Milton Anderson, 97, of Blakely passed away on Thursday morning, June 24, 2021, at Heritage Inn Retirement Center.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, at Zion Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Alex Howell and Rev. William Smith officiating.Daniel & Jeffrey Anderson, Kevin Kimbell, Dan Wasdin, Arthur Brackin, and Ronnie Willis will serve as pallbearers.The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00, prior to the service, and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Milton was born on August 14, 1923 in Early County to the late John Shelton and Annie Laurie Wiley Anderson.He was a World War II combat veteran and earned a Bronze Star in addition to several other medals while proudly serving our country in the United States Army .Mr. Milton worked as a self-employed painter throughout his career, painting countless homes and businesses throughout Early Co. and S.W. Georgia.He was a lifetime member of Zion Free Will Baptist Church and served as a deacon for more than fifty years.He loved fishing, cutting the grass on his riding lawnmower, telling stories and driving his blue Ford truck, which had two speeds, stop & wide-open.Mr. Milton loved God, his family, his neighbors, and countless friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynell "Gail" Prince Anderson, and a son, William Wayne Anderson.
Survivors include his son and daughter, Charles Anderson (Gayle) of Blakely and Linda Kimbell (John) of Alpharetta, GA; four grandchildren, Kevin Kimbell, Daniel Anderson (Rachel) and their son Levi, Jeffrey Anderson, and Lynn Haven Blais (Garrett Hunt) and her children Xavier & Reagan; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Prince (Mary) of Schertz, TX, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
