Millicent Fincher Carlisle

Millicent Fincher Lisenby Carlisle, a beloved member of the Arlington, Georgia community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26th, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on Friday, November 13th, 1931, in Rowena, Georgia, Millicent lived a life full of love, dedication, and service. Millicent was a devoted Administrative Assistant for the Calhoun County School Superintendent, where she worked diligently and made a lasting impact on her colleagues and the community. Her commitment to education and her warm, welcoming nature were hallmarks of her career. A member of Arlington Baptist Church, Millicent was involved in her church community, where she found joy and purpose in her faith and fellowship. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered for her unwavering spirit and compassion. Millicent is survived by her loving children: Deidre Ann Lisenby of Arlington, GA; Teresa L. Spears (Marty) of Quincy, FL; and Robin L. Spurlock (Dwight) of Arlington, GA. She was a cherished grandmother to Eric Eubanks (Merrie Beth), Rocky Spurlock (Hannah), and Cody Spears (Kelsie), and a proud great-grandmother to Evan Eubanks, Lauren Eubanks, Hannah Eubanks, William Eubanks, Hendrix Spurlock, Blake Spurlock, Maggie Spurlock, Emery Spears, and Brooks Spears. Millicent also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Ernest Fincher and Bertha Lou Fincher; her beloved spouse, Ira Carlisle; the father of her children, Robert W. Lisenby; her brothers, Grady Fincher, Harold Fincher, Melvyn Fincher, and C.E. Fincher, Jr.; and her sister, Annie Bell Nichols. A funeral service to celebrate Millicent's life will be held at Arlington Baptist Church on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at 11:00 am, officiated by Dr. Gary Hadden, Rob Morgan, Dr. Van Power, and Bro. Clint Yelverton. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on the same day. Pallbearers will include Dwight Spurlock, Marty Spears, Eric Eubanks, Cody Spears, Rocky Spurlock, Evan Eubanks, and James Fincher. Millicent's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
