The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating.Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery in Jesup, GA.
Mrs. Mattie was born on December 08, 1923 in Covington, GA. to the late Robert Preston and Louise Olive Beeland German.She was a resident of Ludowici for fifty-eight years before moving to Blakely in 2010 to live with her son.Mrs. Mattie was a homemaker and a faithful member of Ludowici United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Sterling Davis (Charlotte) of Blakely; two daughters, Rebecca Davis Hayes of Blakely and Talitha Davis Carter (Donnie) of Jesup; a sister, Merle Tarpley of Greensboro, GA; four grandchildren, Casidy Enfinger (Neil), Candace Davis Thomas (Billy), Lynn Hayes Howard all of Blakely, and Christy Davis Worthy (Joshua) of Buchanan, GA; twelve great-grandchildren, Lee & Riley Thomas, Owen & Brody Enfinger allof Blakely, Christian & Kaylyn Barron, Kenna Worthy all of Buchanan, and Dusty, Cody, Shaun, Cameron, and Brittany Howard of Blakely along with numerous extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Robert Edwin "Curly" Davis; two siblings, Preston German (Alice) and Dorothy Bryan (James); a brother-in-law, Emory Tarpley; a son-in-law, Byron Hayes; a grandson-in-law, Michael Howard, and numerous nieces & nephews.
