In 1973, she married Eldridge C. Reese, Jr. (Eddie) and they shared a long, loving relationship that blessed then with four fantastic children: Sunshine, Sabra, Summer and Cooper and six Grandchildren: Troy, Kate, Reese, Abel, Kelsey and Madaline.
Mary Belle or MB as known by her friends and family was known to have a remarkable sense of humor and a way with words that would sometimes amaze everyone. For those that knew her got to experience what came to be known as "MBisms"; a couple of examples are: "I may not remember but I don't forget." On giving directions, she was know to say "oh, that is just a little East of West of here". She also had unique names for everyday items an example of that was eggs were called "naked chickens".
I don't believe there has ever been anyone that had anything negative to say about this Lady, terms like nice, sweet, kind and above all giving. She never met anyone that she couldn't find something positive to say about them, she loved everyone and life. I do believe she had a positive effect on and with every person she knew or met.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Dorothy Taunton and her brother Cam Taunton. She is survived by her husband Eddie, who loved her as much or more that he did when they took their vows forty plus years ago and often referred to her as "his trophy wife." Her children are Sunshine and Graham Maddox of Hampton, Ga, Sabra and Paul Duchtaua of W. Bloomfield, MI, Summer Reese of Hentown, GA and Cooper and Jennifer Reese of Blakely, GA. Her father is Wayne H. Taunton and his wife Sandra of Port St. Joe, FL; a brother, Taft and Christy Taunton of Port St. Joe, FL;a sister-in-love, Ellen Huckaby of Hentown, GA that was her true sister in every respect; two nieces, Melanie and Monty McGougin of Brewton, AL and Laura and John Pratt of Blakely, Ga; a nephew Finley Taunton of Port St. Joe, FL and numerous cousins.
Visitation and a memorial service will be at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 6 PM for visitation and 7 PM for the Memorial Service with Mr. Danny Brewer officiating. She will be buried at George Cemetery at a future date that allows all of her family to be present. In lieu of flowers, the family asks anyone who desires to make a donation to the National Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Organization @ www.curehht.org/donate.general in her name.
