Mary Ann Muir Murkerson of Blakely passed away suddenly and peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at her residence.She was sixty-nine years old.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Mike Kerin officiating and Turner Floyd, Brent Smith, Taylor Bridges, Gary Busby, Pat Shivers, and Dustin Merritt serving as pallbearers.Jesse Murkerson and Dwight Evans will serve as honorary pallbearers.Due to current restrictions and capacity concerns, friends are encouraged to attend the graveside service in Pine Lawn Gardens at approximately 12:00 p.m.The family will receive friends at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8:00 p.m.
Mary was born December 22, 1950 in New York City, New York to the late Allan Herbert and Kathleen Reilly Muir.She was a medical records coder at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Early for over twenty years.Mary was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Survivors include her four sons, Robert Murkerson (Leann) and their children, Bridges & Reilly Ann, Mark Murkerson, Michael Murkerson and his children, Connor, Savannah, and Ryan, of Jacksonville, FL, and Christopher Murkerson (Amanda) and their children, Brayden & Mason, of Columbia, AL; her brother, Mark Muir (Cindy) of Lindenhurst, NY; three sisters, Kathy Busby (Gary) of Blakely along with Eileen Miller Ragione (Richard) and Regina Muir (Jack Kennedy) of Lindenhurst.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Billy Ray Murkerson, and her brother, Vincent Gerard Muir.
