Mark Pierpont Winslett, Sr.

Mark Pierpont Winslett, Sr., 78, of Blakely, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Mark was born on March 16th, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Luther and Isabelle R. Jerguson Winslett. He grew up with a strong sense of family and community, values that he carried with him throughout his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Winslett, his wife, Glenda Winslett, sister, Sylvia Maxwell and step daughter, Melissa Stokes. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Winslett. He was a proud father to his children, Terri McFay (Greg) of Colquitt, Ga., Cindy Coronado of Colquitt, Ga., Mark Winslett, Jr., (Shannon) of Columbia, Alabama, and Callie Thompson (Travis) of Blakely, Ga. He also loved his bonus children, Sara Enfinger (Scottie), Bill Worsley (Karen) and Chris Stokes (Sarah). He cherished his role as a grandfather to Leigh McFay, Lacie Bond Wiggins, Ashton Temples, Macey Penix, Kade Coronado, Copper Coronado, Luke Winslett, Aaron Winslett, Sutton Sellers and Seely Rae Thompson and was blessed to be a great-grandfather to Mattie Claire Temples, Lynn Marie Penix and Lyla Grace McFay. He was a loving brother to his siblings, Laurie Fowler and John Winslett. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday November 25, 2024 at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM EST. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Southside Baptist Church, Blakely, GA, with Rev. Mark Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in the Blakely Cemetery with Leigh McFay, Kade Coronado, Cooper Coronado, Luke Winslett, Aaron Winslett and Ryan Welch serving as pall bearers.
