Mrs. Lula Mae White Adams, 87, of Edison, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 19, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020, in Salem Cemetery with Joe Jackson, Reeves Lane, Marion Lane, Terry Worthy, Ben Strickland, and Richard West serving as honorary pallbearers
Mrs. Lula was born on August 12, 1933 in Cordele, GA to the late Eugene Murry and Ethel Leola James White.From working at Lane Drug Company for over forty years to her cakes and pies, she was a fixture in Edison and never met a stranger.Mrs. Lula enjoyed cooking for family and friends where she put her cookbook collection to good use.She was a faithful member of Edison United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son, Edith Diane Prater (Gene) and Gerald Chapman (Polly) both of Edison; two sisters, Opal Schramm (James) of Albany, GA and Jean Griggs (Ronnie) of Cobb, GA; six grandchildren, Melissa Bruner, Kristie Brown, Tiffany Commander, Heather Prater, B.J. Chapman, and Celina Chapman; nine great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, J.S. Chapman, Hoss Castleberry, and Truitt Adams; and a son, Ricky Chapman.
