Lucy Lane Wilkerson, 77, of 1202 Dickey Bypass, Edison, GA, passed away at her residence on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. Her funeral will be held at New Light Freewill Baptist Church on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joe Murkerson officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Adam, Brandon and Don Wilkerson, Al and Blake Martin, Lane and Shane Strickland, and Jesse Sampley.Visitation will be Monday evening, November 4, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilkerson was born in Colquitt, GA, on January 31, 1942, to the late Clarence Brantley Lane and Grace Davis Lane.She was a member of the New Light Freewill Baptist Church. She drove a school bus for 37 years for Calhoun County School System and was owner/operator of Lucy's Flower Shop for over 35 years.Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hughie Eugene Wilkerson, a son, Greg Wilkerson and by two brothers; Roger LaDon Lane and Charles Phillip Lane.
Her survivors include two daughters; Jeanie W. Martin and Steve, Jan W. Strickland and Mike, a son; Donnie Wilkerson and Decarlo, a daughter-in-law, Kimra "Kim" Kleckley Wilkerson, all of Edison, GA and two sisters; Dedra Lane Edwards and Melvin of Shellman, GA and Debra Sue Lane Reynolds and Clint of Ft. Myers, FL.There are 10 grandchildren; Jennifer Sheffield and Stacy of Donalsonville, GA, Adam Wilkerson and Jessica of Edison, GA, Don Wilkerson of Ft. Gaines, GA, Brittany Sampley and D.J. of Blakely, GA, Al Martin and his fiance' Adrianna of Jacksonville, FL, Brandon Wilkerson and Amber of Cuthbert, GA, Danielle Adams and Jeremy of Valdosta, GA, Blake Martin and Karley of Leesburg, GA, Lane and Shane Strickland both of Edison, GA.There are also nine great-grandchildren.
