Marie Daugherty, a beloved woman who dedicated her life to her family, career, and faith, passed away on August 21 in Valdosta, Georgia. She was born on May 23, 1939, in Augusta, Georgia. A funeral service in celebration of Marie's life will be held at Colomokee Baptist Church on Friday, August 25,2023 at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held the night before Thursday August 24, 2023 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home from 5-7pm. Marie's life was a testament to her unwavering love and devotion to her loved ones. Marie's professional journey was marked by decades of dedicated service at Early Memorial Hospital, where she excelled as the purchasing director. Her commitment to her work and her exceptional skills left a lasting impact on the institution and the community it served. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marie's heart was deeply devoted to her faith. Her love for the Lord shone through in every aspect of her life, inspiring those around her. She found strength, solace, and guidance in her faith, which she generously shared with everyone she met. Marie's affection for her family was immeasurable. Her love and support were evident in the care and devotion she showed to her three sons and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Beatrice Sims, her siblings Harry Lee Sims, Joyce Pollard, and Shirley M. Matthews, and her beloved husband, Ronald W. Daugherty. Marie's legacy lives on through her surviving family members. Marie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and compassion. She will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her and be touched by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. May she rest in eternal peace, forever embraced by the love of her Lord and the fond memories of her loved ones. She is survived by her sister Shirley Sims and her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Colleen Daugherty, Dean and Carol Daugherty, and Devin and Kathy Daugherty. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren: Orrin(Samantha), Treston, Ashton, Brandon(Kaycie), Mandy(Derek), Aidan, and Brooke(Pate), as well as her great-grandchildren, Graysen and Blakeleigh. Pallbearers will be Brandon Daugherty, Treston Daugherty, Derek McDavid, Eric Jarrett, Eric Jarrett Jr. and Jason Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Orrin Daugherty, Aidan Daugherty, Greg Harrell, Mike Mayo, Lawayne Favors. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Colomokee Baptist Church in honor of Marie's memory.
