Lera O'Neal Houston Cole of Blakely passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, September 16, 2020, at her residence.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in Houston Cemetery with Mr. Tommy Houston officiating.The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
Lera was was born on October 19, 1937 in Early County to the late Auburn Dewey and Tembie Bell Bridges Houston.She was the retired owner and operator of Munchkins Fast Food Restaurant in Blakely.Lera enjoyed working in her yard and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her son, David Scott Cole (Dee) of Blakely; three grandchildren, Skyler Merkison (Michael) of Colquitt, GA, Christopher Cole (Cesan) and their children, Paris & Nadia of Belvidere, IL, and Jenni Kingslien and her son, Samuel Martin of Mount Horeb, WI; her sister, Emma Rogers of Donalsonville, GA; and a special niece, Glenda Money, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Lera was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Clair Irwin "Bud" Cole; their son, Craig Cole; and four brothers, W.J. (Ruby), James (Lucy), Charles, and George Houston.
