Laverne Pyle Houston

Jimmie LaVerne Pyle Houston, 101, formerly of 325 S. Central Ave., Blakely, GA, passed away early Saturday morning, March 31, 2018 at the Church Home Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Ft. Valley, GA. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11AM at the First Baptist Church
in Blakely, GA with Rev. Keith Alderman officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation starting at 10 AM in the Social Hall of First Baptist. Pallbearers will be Ben Clenney, Jimmy Pyle, Davis Pyle, Jr., Julian Houston, Mal Freeman and Phillip Buckhalter.
Mrs. Houston was born on July 19, 1916 in Blakely, GA to the late Jim Sanders Pyle and Sophia Aletha Davis Pyle. She was a homemaker and a very active member of the First Baptist Church and the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Cloy Hayward "Bill" Houston, 4 sisters: Bobbie Pyle, Myrtice Paul Ivey, Jean Brown and Eleanor Sheffield and by her brother Davis Sanders Pyle.

Her survivors include a daughter; Martha Houston Price and her husband Phillip of Byron, GA, a son; Hayward Houston and his wife Wanda of Blakely, GA, a grandson, Kevin L. Houston and his wife Kristal of Blakely and a great grandson, Nicholas Houston.
