Latane Pitts Mcneal

Latane Pitts McNeal, 96, of Blakely passed away Sunday December 17, 2023 at Heritage Inn Assisted Living. Mrs. McNeal was born June 15, 1927 in Barbour County, Al. to the late Lawrence Allen Pitts and Alma Baell Pitts. She married Lysle Evans McNeal on September 12,1948. She was a retired social worker with the Early County Department of Family and Childrens Services, a Hospice volunteer and an active member of First Baptist Church of Blakely. Mrs. McNeal is survived by her husband Lysle of 75 years, 2 sons, Michael McNeal (Karen) and Russell McNeal (Debra), both of Blakely and 1 daughter, Carol Wright (Lawrence) of St. Augustine, Fl. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McNeal was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Pershing Pitts and T.O. Pitts, and 2 sisters, Donabel McMillan and Sheila Baxley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Blakely with Rev. Lyle Brackin officiating. Family will receive friends in the church social hall at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be family only at Blakely Cemetery with Brad Pope, Neal Pope, Ryan Randell, Harlan Winn, David Sheffield and Clink Alexander serving as pallbearers. The family requests that donations be made to Georgia Hospice or the Hospice group of your choice in lieu of flowers.
