Larry Darrel Gandy, 72, of Blakely passed away July 7, 2024. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home. Larry was born January 26, 1952 in Bastrop, La. to the late Clarence Darrel Gandy and Laura Myrtle Gandy. He was married to Charlene Quattelbaum Gandy. Larry was retired from Georgia-Pacific Papermill where he was a past union president. He also enjoyed his time working as an Ag Pilot, as a truck-driver, as well as a pipe-fitter at Farley Nuclear Plant where he was a member of Local #52 Pipefitters. Larry served as a Mason and Shriner. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by brothers, Keith Gandy and David Gandy. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Quattelbaum Gandy, sons, Christopher Gandy of Columbia, Al., Joseph T. Gandy of Dothan, Al., and James Michael Masters of Blakely. Larry is also survived by grandchildren, Alex Gandy, Eric Gandy, Faith Gandy, and Emma Gandy, and siblings LaFran Roach (Earl) of Colquitt, Bruce Gandy of Ashford, Al., and Genia Gandy Johnson (Kenneth) of Blakely. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
