Kimberly Jennette "Kim" Simpson Whitaker, 49, passed away this morning, September 25, 2019, at her home at 11872 GA Highway 370, Lot #3, Blakely, GA.Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, September 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Bryant officiating.Visitation will be held starting at 10 a.m. until funeral time.Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery with Lee Nix, Cecil Grant, Les Phillips, Tim Cherry, Ray Enfinger and Josh Freeman serving as pallbearers.

Kim was born April 1, 1970 in Arlington, GA, to the late Clarence James "Buddy" Simpson, Jr. and Evelyn Simpson of Blakely, GA.Kim was an LPN for 20 years at various hospitals and nursing homes.She received her LPN degree from Bainbridge College.

Her survivors include her mother Evelyn Simpson and Step-father Ronnie Mulkey, two sons; Justin Whitaker, Cody Whitaker and Brittany all of Colquitt, GA, two brothers; Clarence James "Jamie" Simpson, III and Renee of Blakely, GA, Marcus Jonathan Simpson and Marcie of Cochran, GA, two sisters; Veronica Mulkey and Jason of North Augusta, SC and Maria Mulkey and Stephen of CA, a granddaughter, Lily Grace Whitaker and a grandson, Albert Elijah Whitaker all of Colquitt, GA.She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
