Julian Thomas Willis, 87, of 836 Southside Drive, Blakely, GA 39823 passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Willowood Assisted Living in Edison, Georgia. His funeral will be held Saturday morning, March 18, 2017 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Blakely Cemetery with Ronnie Willis, Jeremy White, Steven Willis, Buck Willis, Alan Tiner and Bill Miles serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday evening, March 17, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Willis was born on April 22, 1929 in Blakely, GA to the late homer Hue Willis and Bera King Willis. He was a retired regional distribution manager for P P & G Industries, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely and a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Harold, Vincent and Vivian Willis.
His survivors include his wife, Wynette Chambers Willis of Blakely, 2 daughters: Deb Latch and Willie of Augusta, GA, Diane Allen and Joe of Macon, GA and a son; Steve Willis and Linda of Jackson, GA, a step-daughter; Pam T. Miles and Bill of Helen, GA and a step-son: Alan Tiner of Blakely.He has a sister; Jean W. Harris of Blakely and a brother; Lamar Willis also of Blakely. There are 8 grandchildren: Wesley Latch and Claudia of Augusta, GA, Melia Russell and Tim of Port Orange, FL, Chris White of Stockbridge, GA, Jeremy White and Tiffani of Riverdale, GA, Amanda W. Ellison and Eric of Forsyth, GA, Justin Torbush and Peytonn of Macon, Ga, Jonathan Torbush Chelley of Macon, GA, Nikki Wise of Jackson, GA. and several great grandchildren.
