Julia Catherine Lewis

December 19, 1928 — March 28, 2019

Julia Catherine McDowell Lewis, 90, of 5779 Hwy 200, Blakely, GA 39823, passed away Thursday morning, March 28, 2019, at the Early Memorial Nursing Home. Her funeral will be a graveside service Saturday morning, March 30, 2019 at 11 AM in the Blakely Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Harris officiating.

Catherine was born on December 19, 1928 in Blakely, GA to the late Manuel Alexander McDowell, Sr. and Fannie Wade Davis McDowell. She was a member and pianist at White Pond Freewill Baptist Church for many years, a retired Dietary Supervisor at Early Memorial Hospital, a school bus driver for the Early County School System and worked part time for many years at Greenbrier Floral Company. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Lewis, Jr., 2 sisters: Ennid and Dot McDowell and by 3 brothers: Randall, Joe and Manuel McDowell.

Her survivors include 3 cousins: Juliann Copper and Phillip,LaDon McDowell and Wyline and Regina Barron.
