Judy Elizabeth Jenkins Moore, 74, passed away at Life Brite Community Hospital on October 13, 2021. A graveside service will be heldTuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing.The familywill receive friends for visitation on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m.
Judy was born in Blakely, Georgia on May 21, 1947 to the late Ralph and Martha Vivian Clements Jenkins.She was educated in Blakely Schools, graduating in 1965.She graduated Marsho-Draughton Business College in Atlanta in September 1966 and then began employment as Secretary at Chattahoochee Plywood Corporating during its construction October 1966 and advanced during the next 24 years to Sales Manager of the Plywood Division at Georgia-Pacific - Cedar Springs operation. She served as Secretary at Kolomoki Mounds Historic State Park until retirement in 2013.
She was a member of Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church, Past matron and 52 year member of Blakely Chapter #282 Order of the Eastern Star, Early County Historical Society. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie Wayne Moore and infant son, maternal grandparents Van and Avie Lanton Clements, paternal grandparents, Thomas Wingate and Minnie Johnson Jenkins.
Survivors include son, Terry Wayne Moore and wife, Melinda, granddaughter, Allison Elizabeth Moore of Columbus, GA., one brother, Ralph James "Buddy" Jenkins, two sisters, Martha Suzann Culpepper and husband, Ronnie and Laura Dawn Mims, all of Blakely, Sister-in-law, Lucy Chandler and husband Benny of Fort Gaines, GA, special nieces, nephews and lots of extended family and friends.
Flowers are welcomed, but encourage donations to Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church for Cemetery Fund or Blakely OES or any charity of choice.
