Joyce Wiley Ferguson

June 6, 1936 — February 25, 2019

Joyce "AJ" Wiley Ferguson passed away Monday, February 25, 2019, as a result of a tragic automobile accident with a train on highway 370 and Old Columbia road.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Zion Freewill Baptist Church, Blakely, GA. at 4 p.m. with Dr. Alex Howell officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation in the church sanctuary from 3 until 4 p.m.Burial will be held in the Sowhatchee Cemetery with Larry and Walter Ferguson, Dip and Bo Ready, Robert Lane and Dezmand Ferguson serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Ferguson was born on June 6, 1936 to the late Henry Green Wiley and Nettie Dee Roberts Wiley. She was a caregiver and homemaker all her life.She was a member of Zion Freewill Baptist Church.She was a Red Cross volunteer at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA and cafeteria worker at Tinker Air Force Base elementary school in Midwest City, OK. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Eugene Ferguson, SR; two daughters, Debbie Sue Ferguson and Sandra Dee Jenkins, and her son, Terry Eugene Ferguson, Jr.

Her survivors are two daughters; Sherry Lynn Ferguson and Tina Maria Moore both of Warner Robins, GA; one sister, Henrietta W. Ready of Blakely, GA and two brothers; Raymond Wiley and Diane of Albany, GA and Mike Wiley and Barbara of Clinton, Utah. There are 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn Ferguson, Melinda Sue Moore and William Thomas Moore and 6 great-grandchildren.
